Responsibilities
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
He/she should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution’s financial transactions Including investments.
Qualification and Experience Required
Qualification:
Candidates must possess a good honours Degree and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences
He should have a least 12 years post qualification academic and professional experience, with a minimum of Five (5) years at the management level.
Person currently below the rank of a Deputy University Librarian in a recognized University or equivalent position with minimum of Five (5) years experience in the post may apply.
Possession of a Doctorate degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an advantage
The Candidate
The Candidate shall be a person of high integrity and moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
He/she must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of peoples
He must fully understand the complexity of University system and must be able to effectively utilize its human resources to develop a library system that will fully support the university’s aspirations to attain world class status in the shortest possible times
He must enjoy good physical and mental health and must be ICT complaint
Condition of Service
The successful candidate shall hold office for a renewable single term of five years, on such, terms and conditions as maybe applicable to other Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and guidelines as stipulated by the Board of Trustees.
