Bursar – Taraba – Kwararafa University

Responsibilities
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and is the Chief Financial Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
He/she should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution’s financial transactions Including investments.
Quantification and Experience Required

Qualification:
Prospective candidates must hold a good first Degree in Accounting or related discipline from a recognized University. In addition, he must be a member of at least one of the underlisted professional bodies:
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), or England Wales, or Scotland or Ireland
Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA)
Chartered Institute of Coat and Management Accountants (ICMA)

Experience:
The applicant must currently not be lower than the rank of a Deputy Bursar and must have a minimum of Ten (10) years cognate experience, six (6) years of which must have been spent preferably in a University or cognate Institution.
Retired Bursars and Deputy Bursars are welcome to apply.

The Candidate
The candidate shall be a person of impeccable character and integrity with excellent interpersonal relations.
He/She must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
He/She must fully understand the complexity of a University financial system and be capable of bringing out the best in the subordinates.
Candidates must have very strong Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills with special proficiency in MS Excel and leading software based accounting packages.
Condition of Service
The successful candidate shall hold office for a non-renewable single term of five years, on such terms and conditions as applicable to other Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and guidelines as stipulated by the Board of Trustees.
