Registrar – Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University

Job Description
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University except in financial matters for which the Bursar is responsible.
The Registrar is Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation among other functions.

Qualification and Experience
The candidate should possess a good honours degree from a recognized University and must have at least eighteen (18) years administrative experience in a tertiary educational institution out of which he/she must have spent at least five (5) years as a Deputy Registrar in the University system.
Possession of a higher degree will be an advantage and membership of recognized professional administrative bodies is mandatory.

The Registrar is expected to:
Be a person with high quality leadership traits who can motivate and inspire young administrative officers to be able to get the best of them for the benefit of the University.
Be a person with excellent physical and intellectual health.
Be focused, innovative and principled.
Be proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and writing skills.
The candidate for the position must be articulate and be a dynamic academic administrator with unassailable integrity who promotes merit and diligence and has not been indicted by any administrative panel or convicted by a Law Court.
Conditions of Service
The conditions of service are the same as in the public service as applicable to public Universities in Nigeria as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.
The appointment shall be for a single tenure of five (5) years and as prescribed by the University Law.
The candidate should not be more than sixty (60) years at the time of appointment.
