The Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP)is supported by DFID/UKAID and is managed by a consortium made up of British Council, International Alertand Social Development Direct. The programme seeks to deliver interventions to reduce the impacts of violent conflict and promote reconciliation processes. The focus will be on the national level and in eight focal states.

We are looking for a committed and experienced individual to lead one of the Outputs of this innovative and exciting programme.

You will be responsible for providing NSRP with strategic and technical management that will deliver programme results, specifically in relation to Security and Governance Output (Output 1). You will lead the conceptualisation and implementation of NSRP activity under Output 1, and provide technical guidance to ensure the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all Output 1 activities at Federal, State and Local levels. You will also develop and manage relationships with a wide constituency of actors and stakeholders, with particular relevance to the work conducted under Output 1, and contribute to overall NSRP strategy-setting and monitoring at a senior level, and to the overall capacity development (skills and knowledge) of the NSRP delivery team.

Essential qualifications include a post graduate qualification in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies or a related social science discipline, with significant experience of managing peacebuilding projects or programmes, project planning and monitoring – including responsibility for financial management of projects. An understanding of conflict and peacebuilding issues in Nigeria, coupled with experience of working in partnerships with other organisations on peacebuilding, and in providing mentoring and support to a range of actors are also required.
